1956 Gibson Les Paul
Goldtop
Art.Nr. GI56LPGT61210
This is a very special one… 1956 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop that was sent back to Gibson for repair and the serial number was re-stamped. Those ink-stamps are rare but they’re out there and 100% authentic from Gibson factory. The guitar is basically “double goldtop” so it has been finished twice. Other than that we don’t see any reasons why it would have been repaired. Its hard to tell when it happened but the serial number indicated an early 1956 model and pots read 134.7.01 (1st week of 1957) and the finish looks 100% 50s. It likely went back to the factory late 56/early 57 for repair. It went through a few small changes along it’s path (new binding only on the treble side of the neck, new bridge pickup volume pot, new tone cap, new wire from toggle to e-cavity, newer output jack plate and two newer tuner bushings) its in original condition with all the correct parts: original short seam aluminum stoptail, original non-wire ABR-1 bridge, tuners, pickguard, pokerchip, switchtip, trussrod cover, original P90 pickups, the knobs.. all important stuff is there. This is actually a great opportunity to get an amazing sounding 1956 Les Paul at 60% of the price of a mint example – without any breaks and with Gibson factory lacquer. The guitar has seen the road – the lacquer on the back of the neck is almost completely worn off, it’s got such a great look and vibe! Comes incl. it’s original Cali Girl Gibson case.
