1956 Gibson ES-140
Sunburst
Art.Nr. GI56ES140SBV617113
The Gibson ES-140 was introduced in 1950 as a 3/4 size version of the ES-175. In 1956 it was replaced by the ES-140T, a thinline version of the same guitar with some cosmetic changes. The guitar became more and more popular in the last years since it plays and sounds really nice and is the perfect “couch guitar” for many enthusiasts. The is a fine example of the last production year (there were some overlaps of course), all original. There was some moisture on the bottom which made the laminate separate a bit but this doesn’t have any influence on stability of the construction. The guitar has been refretted by our luthier with Jescar 51100 fret wire. Comes in newer case.
