1956 Fender Stratocaster – 2-tone Sunburst / Hardtail

1956 Fender Stratocaster in 2-tone Sunburst, rare hardtail version! The guitar is all original and in excellent condition for its age. Lightweight alder body in 2-tone sunburst finish, this guitar is a real lightweight with only 3,12 Kg(!). Hardtails are rare and sound a little different than the regular tremolo-models. Billy Gibbons from ZZ-Top played some of his most famous solos on a ´56 hardtail Stratocaster (Tush, LaGrange etc.).The guitar has some minor playwear mostly on the backside of the body and on the fretboard, as well as the usual weatherchecking. Nice "V"-shape neck with a pencil-mark "8/56", the body is dated "8/56" in the middle pickup-cavity as well, the 3x Stackpole pots are stamped 304.6.05 (5th week of 1956). The three original single-coil pickups are well balanced with strong outputs of 6,04K / 6,58K and 6,56K. All original including the original CRL 3-way switch, a great-sounding instrument! Incl. original Fender tweed case with red plush lining, orig. Fender Instruction manual and lether strap.
