1955 Gibson ES-295 – Allgold

Maybe one of the coolest guitars Gibson built in the 50s? The legendary Allgold ES-295 model. Technically a dual P-90 dogear equipped ES-175 with Gold hardware, Les Paul/ES-225 trazepe tailpiece and the beautiful Gold finish of the Les Paul models. This guitar was built between 1954 and 1955 – its got a 1954 FON (X) and a (rather cool) 1955 serial (A20002). Its been played for sure: The back of the neck shows that typical wear you see on all “Allgold” models since the finish reacts with the sweat and moisture. There is a new pickguard, a repaired spot around the output jack and some moisture finish flaking on the bottom. There was a different tailpiece installed at some point. Otherwise it’s original, two original P90s and nice rather clean finish on front and back. Great sounding and really good playing guitar with low string action! Comes in the coolest non-original case you can imagine – a piece of art by itself!
