1953 Gibson Les Paul 57 Goldtop Conversion
Super cool 1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop converted to 57 specs. The guitar has no neck reset and no breaks. It’s been converted to stoptail and humbuckers in the 70s but unfortunately the bridge humbucker and stop tailpiece location were wrong and have been corrected by luthier Mathias Schindehuette (see pictures) to 1957 specs. There is also a small filled hole from a mini switch. The guitar has the original finish, original electronics (early 1953 pots), original shaved down non-wire ABR-1, original 50s top hat knobs and pickguard. The other plastics are replacements. The pickups are Throbak SLE-101 PAF clones. It’s been converted to Grovers but now newer Klusons are back on. It’s been refretted with Jescar 45100 wire (59 specs). It’s got a wonderful round neck profile, plays and sounds really nice and is as close as you can get to a vintage 50s humbucker Les Paul! Weight: 4120g. Comes in Gibson protector case.
