1951 Fender Nocaster Tommy Magness - Blonde

Maybe the first Nocaster ever? This is a super early 1951 Fender Nocaster with serial number 1236. Bought from the original owner Tommy Magness who got it in the spring of 1951 in California as a graduation present. Tommy put a decal with his name on the guitar, as well as black paint to cover/protect about a part of the arm rest area right after. The black overspray on that arm rest area has been removed, the name decal is still intact. Very early Nocaster with all Broadcaster specs (flaky finish, tall knobs, D neck, blend control wiring, early style Broadcaster style finish, closed shell tuners…). Other than the removed overspray in that area, the guitar is original with untouched original solder joints and original thermometer case with the original owners’ initials. The neck on this guitar was made on February 21, 1951. The Gretsch Telegram to Fender stating the need to drop the name "Broadcaster" due to copyright reasons was sent on February 20. So, this maybe one of the first Fender Broadcaster necks to come with a clipped decal. This guitar has its own chapter in the famous "Pinecaster" book. A true piece of history with a great history and provenance. Comes with The Pinecaster book with matching serial number "1236".
