1951 Fender Telecaster
A magical piece of history... the first year of the Telecaster model. Body and neck are dated October 1951, it's one of the first models that actually had the "Telecaster" decal on the headstock. The name was introduced in the product catalogue in June and at the Namm show in July 1951 but it wasn't until August/September 1951 before they shipped the first guitars with the Telecaster decal on the headstock. Fun fact: the body date was penciled by Tadeo Gomez on October 28, 1951 - his 49th birthday. The guitar is all original and in great condition. There is the typical play wear you see on a guitar that had to be played since it's just perfect... but it's been taken care of. It has the first wiring with the pickup blend in the bridge position, nothing has been changed. It's got a super nice feeling neck, not huge rather a medium profile, it's just right. One of the high e-string machine head slots is broken (see picture). Great light weight and big tone! Comes incl. original thermometer case.
