1945 Epiphone Deluxe – Natural – ex-Bob Shane Kingston Trio

What a great guitar! This 1945 Epiphone New York Deluxe model was owned by Bob Shane of the Kingston Trio which were famous in the late 50s/early 60s. The guitar is a classic 17″ archtop with 2-piece spruce top and highly flamed maple back and sides, very impressive looking piece of craftsmanship! It comes with the original “Frequensator” tailpece, tuners and the original pickguard with “Bob Shane” engraved. There is a newer pickguard , as well as a D’Armond pickup installed. The guitar was a work horse so it’s no wonder it went through some modifications during the last 80+ years. There is a repair on the lower side, a filled hole from a second strap pin, drilled hole hole for output jack and a filled hole in the top – maybe from another pickup/volume pot, right under the pickup control unit. The guitar is oversprayed with clear coat. It’s a wonderful playing piece of music history! Comes incl. case.
