Beautiful 1996 Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus with flamed maple top. They say this was the “good wood era” – because of those maple tops! The pickups have been swapped with Seymour Duncan 59s which is a common and very welcome upgrade since the original ceramic humbuckers sound very bright and harsh and most players changed the pickups of their Classic. This one sounds just right, clear but still warm with nice attack. Typical slim taper neck but not that super super thin blade neck of some later Classics. The guitar has a professionally repaired headstock crack. There is a little ding on the treble side of the binding (maybe from the same incident) otherwise its clean – a few dings and dongs on the back and the beck of the neck but not that much. The original price tag (5600 DM) is still on the guitar. Comes incl. original case.
