1992 Fender Custom Shop Jerry Donahue Signature Telecaster

Clean 1992 Fender Jerry Donahue Signature Telecaster serial number JD0035 - the 35th ever made. Fender released this signature run in 1992 with a Custom Shop edition and a lower priced Made in Japan run.
The neck was made by Herbie Gastelum, the legendary neck "guru" who trained John Cruz - you can tell the neck is special since it has an amazing V profile and feels as soft as it can possibly be. The guitar still has the early Custom Shop logo - the Custom Shop officially started in 1992. Its got a lightweight ash body with bookmatched birdseye maple top and back. The neck is dated "Mar 27 1992" and "Donahue 4-7-92" the body is dated 3-13-92. The neck pickup is a Strat pickup, the switching is rather special:

Position 1: Bridge Pickup Position 2: Bridge Pickup + Neck Pickup, Out of Phase Position 3: Bridge Pickup + Neck Pickup, In Parallel Position 4: Neck Pickup, run through the tone control Position 5: Neck Pickup, bypassing the tone control Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone (Not used in all positions).

According to the original seller back in the day, a shop in the UK, this guitar is supposed to be played by Jerry Donahue in during the 1994 The Hellecasters tour in Germany. This is not reflected in the price - just a side note. Comes in Tweed case.
