One of Gibsons early attempts for a 50s LP Reissue, called “Standard 58” it was actually a reissue of a 1954 Les Paul. The body has been refinished – a great job actually. It appears its been spray painted red at some point and the Goldtop and back have been refinished. The back of the neck remains in original condition – the finish chemistry is matching with period correct examples. Otherwise its all original, untouched solder, the electronics have been taken out unsoldering the pickups. They did everything right on this one: chunky 1-piece neck, 1-piece mahogany body with thin binding in cutaway, small 50s-style headstock, aluminum lightweight tailpiece. Stand right next to a 68 Goldtop! Only a few were made, 25 in 1971 and 1046 in 1972. Incl. it´s orig. black Gibson case with pink interior.
