1965 Gibson Trini Lopez Custom – Sunburst (wide nut
near mint)
Art.Nr. GI65TLC-348078
Here comes something special you don´t see every day: A 1965 Gibson Trini Lopez Custom Deluxe – one of only 45 Guitars shipped that year in absolutely stunning preserved condition. This beauty literally looks as if have left the Kalamazoo factory last week and we would state it “mint condition” if it didn’t receive a Bigsby B6 Vibrato unit probably shortly after it was bought. You only can tell if you remove the Bigsby and find the screw holes from the original tailpiece in the rim covered completely by the mounting plate of the B6 unit. The guitar was probably built early 65 as it still has the desired 42,5 mm nut width along with a mahogany neck (opposed to the maple neck of the Barney Kessel version). It still has the original USA Pat. No. Grover nickel tuners and a nickel ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge with nylon saddles mixed with two Pat. No. humbuckers with early chrome covers (a typical transitional feature of that year). The guitar has highly flamed maple top, back and sides! Even the tortoise pick guard didn’t shrink and looks like new. It´s fairly light for being such a big 17″ archtop! The two sharp Florentine cutaways gives it a wild look. The lower cutaway toggle switches the pickups and the upper one functions as a standby switch. It comes in its factory Victoria Case which is in almost the same breathtaking condition as the guitar itself. Perfect invest addition for any guitar collection and a great sounding player too!
