1952 Fender Telecaster - 1958 Factory Refin Sunburst
December 1952 Telecaster serial 4305 that went back to the Fender Factory in 1958 to get a full beautiful sunburst redo. After the Stratocaster was introduced in 1954 Fender received orders for Sunburst colored Telecaster but they have not been available at the time. Fender made a few sunburst Teles in the standard finish for the strats, probably no more than a dozen instruments all together, some in 1955 and some in 1957...There may have been other isolated Teles made in sunburst as rare custom/dealer orders but it is simply impossible to find one of those examples. This is the closest you will get to a unicorn $120K+ original finish 55 sunburst Tele. But this is better because it’s a 52 Blackguard with the best classic 52 specs (flat pole pickup, full size neck, serial number bridge with brass saddles…) and the same original factory finish. The neck was also factory redone in 58 so the decal was relocated to the post-56 position, but the string tree was not moved. This guitar has its own chapter/video demo in Nacho banos famous Pinecaster book and belonged to country ace Redd Volkaert who travelled around the world touring with it for years. No wonder it sounds and plays amazing. Includes copy of "The Pinecaster" book. The guitar comes incl. original 50s Gigbag, strap and high quality repro poodle case.
