A rare Stromberg with a very special collecting history! This 1947 Deluxe Cutaway in Blonde, serial number 600, was formerly part of the Scott Chinery Collection and is pictured in the collection book. The Deluxe occupies an important place in Stromberg’s range, combining the Boston maker’s orchestral heritage with a more compact format than the huge Master models. The cutaway adds upper-register access and gives the traditional archtop outline a distinctly different character.
Vintage Stromberg cutaways are scarce, and the Chinery provenance adds another compelling chapter to this example’s history. An unusual opportunity to acquire a Boston-built Deluxe Cutaway with both musical heritage and a place in a celebrated guitar collection. Pickguard is a repro, it also includes an old Mirabella made replacement pickguard.
