1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom - Ebony

All original 1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom - Ebony in near mint condition, serial number 519803. In 1968 Gibson re-issued the Les Paul Custom guitar for the first time after it was discontinued in 1960. It was introduced at the Summer Namm in July 1968. The very first models featured rare specs that are very close to the famous models from the golden era in the 50s. This is why they became very collectible guitars. This guitar is a real-deal "under the bed" time-capsule guitar! The original owner passed away only two years after he bought the guitar new in 1968 and it was stored safely in it's case until now. There is almost no visible playwear and no weather checking at all. The guitar has all the desirable features that make the 1968 Les Paul Custom so desireable such as: 1-piece body, 1-piece neck, long neck-tenon, 2x well-balanced "Pat.-Nr. sticker" humbucking pickups with outputs of 7,35K and 7,01K, All 4 pots are stamped 137.68.26 (26th week of 1968) and all solder joints are completely untouched. There are no cracks, repairs or other hidden damages. Nice weight with only 4,45Kg and the neck has a round C-shape, similiar to the typical round late 50s necks everybody loves. The frets are also still original (fretless wonder) and show almost no wear. Comes including the orig. great condition black Gibson #1237 Oblong shape hardshell case.
